About

Designing Sustainable Futures

No matter who we are, the one need that connects us all is shelter. As ecological architects, our mission is to design affordable, healthy, energy-efficient, and joyful homes that support and nurture you and your family for years to come. We believe a home should inspire an active and fulfilling life, helping you feel grounded and connected to the world around you.

The joy of the pursuit of architecture is in creating unique homes and buildings which are shaped around the specifics of the site, the climate, and the needs and wants of the owner. No we won’t be pumping out 1000’s of homes a year to fill a statistical demand. But what we will produce will be a blend of the best suited materials and construction technology and our human experience and learned knowledge.

Homes should be a legacy for generations to come. That’s why we design houses that meet today’s needs and tomorrow’s challenges, built to last with cost-effective sustainable design solutions while sparking joy for the people living in them. Our team creates sustainable house designs that are made to withstand all seasons and climates with energy efficiency and minimal environmental impact. Creating Future Heritage. That’s what we do, throughout the cool temperate climates of Central Victoria.

Matt Turner

Matthew has over two decades of experience in architecture, working across Sydney, Melbourne, and the Ballarat region. From early on in his architectural studies, Matt had an interest in alternative building methods and vernacular design. This inspired him to study in the UK and explore life and design across Southeast Asia, India, and Europe, seeking to understand how and why different cultures shape their buildings to suit their climate and available materials.

With these learnings, Matt founded Enduring Domain in 2013 to offer an architecture service that prioritises environmentally sustainable design. This has allowed Matt to continue to research and develop better ways of living a more harmonious lifestyle with the natural world around us.

To balance the demands of running an architectural studio, Matt often cycles and hikes to places that give him new perspectives and inspiration.
